For the October 2022 NIH deadline, the R Club Grant Program will start early August 2022.For the 2023 (February, June, and October) NIH deadlines, the R Club Program will start in November 2022, March 2023, and July 2023, respectively.
To be eligible for the R Club Grant Program, applicants must have a full-time junior faculty appointment and be a member of UC’s College of Medicine and/or the CCTST. Applicants must be preparing an original or re-submission application that could ultimately lead to the funding of their first R01 proposal. Members of underrepresented racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic groups, and candidates with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply. Following a comprehensive workshop on “How to construct a Specific Aims page”, participants will beinvited to submit their Specific Aims page for peer-review by a grant review committee. Participants selected for one-on-one proposal assistance will be chosen based on scientific merit and the likelihood of achieving extramural funding support. Recommendations will be made to an Executive Committee who will approve all decisions.
