Admission

All trainees entering the Therapy Physics Residency program are required to satisfy the CAMPEP standards for program admission.

Specifically, candidates must have acquired a strong foundation in basic physics as demonstrated by an undergraduate or graduate degree in physics OR a degree in engineering, mathematics or other related science AND the equivalent of a minor in physics (as defined by at least three upper-level undergraduate physics courses).

Furthermore, candidates must have either:

1. an MS or PhD from a CAMPEP-accredited Medical Physics graduate program,
2. a PhD in physics or a related discipline AND completed a CAMPEP-accredited certificate program
   

The physics residency education program lasts for two years, with the training calendar starting on January 1 or July 1 of each year at the discretion of the Residency Program Director.

Remediation for Students Not Meeting Requirements

The didactic requirements for entering a residency program shall be completed prior to the beginning of clinical education, except for up to two remedial courses.

Provided that up to 2 remedial classes are need for CAMPEP guided compliance, for applicants offered admission, remediation of deficiencies in academic background are identified in the initial Letter of Acceptance.  Typically, this is a requirement to take and pass additional course work from the Department of Physics.  Courses typically required include PHYS 3001C-3002C, calculus-based Intermediate Physics and PHYS 3020-3021, Electricity and Magnetism.

5. Undergraduate and graduate transcripts that must include a CAMPEP accredited Certificate/MS/PhD program.
