Neurophysiology & Behavior is designed to provide students with an overview of systems behavioral neuroscience. The course will cover sensory, motor and pain systems; homeostasis and biological rhythms; brain energetics; positive and negative affect and motivation; cognition; and psychoneuroimmunology.
Learning Objectives
- Gain familiarity with topics in systems behavioral neuroscience
- Gain familiarity with critically reading the relevant literature
Prerequisites
In order to take MEDS4047, students must satisfy all of the following prerequisites:
- Medical Sciences program major or minor
- C or better in MEDS3026 Human Physiology
Textbook
There is no required textbook for this course; however, reference to one of several texts is recommended. Specific reading assignments are given by the faculty for individual lectures. Refer to the syllabus for details.
