Kidney and Pancreas Transplantation
The University of Cincinnati Medical Center Transplant Program started in 1967. Our program has outstanding expertise and experience, with more than 180 kidney transplants and 25 combined solid organ transplants completed annually. The University of Cincinnati Medical Center has a robust program for both living and deceased donor kidney and pancreas transplantation. Our Transplant Nephrologists work closely with a multidisciplinary team that includes surgeons, pathologists, infectious disease specialists, and a large group of coordinators and ancillary staff to ensure high quality care. UC Transplant Nephrology practices innovative medical care, including steroid-free and novel immunosuppressive regimens.
Research programs established include those in glomerular diseases, women’s health, pharmacology and desensitization.
UC offers a Transplant Nephrology Fellowship of one year, giving our trainees clinical and research experience in the field of kidney and pancreas transplantation. The fellowship consists of rotations through our inpatient consulting service, outpatient clinics, HLA lab, and elective/research. We encourage all interested applicants to apply!
